A bonus rewards teachers who are key to education and healing for displaced children.
The teachers at Kobani Elementary School work hard to provide a quality education to Syrian children who attend the school. Due to political and financial problems, many have gone months without a paycheck, yet they still show up to teach each day.
In early January 2015, working with our partners at IVY, TentED provided 24 hard-working teachers with a one-time $100 bonus each, to show appreciation for their critical work and to help them make ends meet.
Afterwards, the school principal thanked TentED Executive Director Zack Bazzi for the organization’s commitment to education and for standing by Kobani’s teachers during difficult times.
