Displaced children have few chances to enjoy the recreational activities they still remember from their lives back home.
For children coping with a bewildering array of changes in their lives after having to flee with their families and settle in transitional communities, hope can come in the simple form of fun.
Working again with IVY and our local volunteer network, TentED organized a field trip for 100 displaced Iraqi children from a community on the outskirts of Erbil to spend the afternoon at the movies.
While TentED typically provides educational support like classroom supplies and books, we also recognize that social activities and play (fun!) are essential ingredients of a quality education.
